Paradores - Spain
‘Paradores de Turismo de Espana’ is a chain of Spanish luxury hotels. The company was founded by Alfonso XIII as a means to promote tourism in Spain with the first hotel opening in 1928. The hotels are often located in adapted castles, palaces, fortresses, convents and monasteries. Included on our new Spain tour for 3 nights, the Hostal de los Reyes Catolicos in Santiago de Compostela is considered to be one of the oldest continuously operating hotels in the world.
Pousadas de Portugal
Created in 1942 and a member of the Historic Hotels of Europe, ‘Pousadas de Portugal’ is a chain of charming luxury hotels synonymous with culture, history and tradition. Located in palaces, castles, convents and monasteries, the word ‘Pousada’ means ‘hostel” or ‘inn’. Often located in the country-side and renowned for their warm Portuguese hospitality and typical regional cuisine, these iconic hotels embody the very best this seafaring nation has on offer.
